Finding the best coffee around you

This project was a perfect storm of a need and a curiosity. The need came from being on vacation and wanting an app that showed me nearby coffee shops without the friction of searching or seeing irrelevant (to me) metadata. The curiosity side was focused on Claude Code and Codex CLI tools.

The design goal was pretty simple: Show relevant coffee shops immediately and do it in a way that felt friendly. There was no need for complexity here, a way to search, a shop detail view, a favorites tab and a beans of the month tab! The latter was arguably unnecessary, but I wanted to explore adding some 3D visuals to the app.

In the end, I'm happy with the result. The map-results view blends functionality and a friendly visual for the listings. The shop detail view details just enough information (including AI highlights) and provides a useful menu web scraping function. The beans of the month was fun to develop for the sole purpose of exploring what the Spline3D <> SwiftUI pipeline was like - pretty efficient!
